Well, I've encountered a first issue:

the Gnu MP (gmp) library is flagged on the GNU MP Web site (http:// www.swox.com/gmp) as not building on MacIntel machines (issue dated 2006-05-04 on the gmp site).

Is there any workaround ?

Oops! Not that I know of. Some open source tools assume that intel and darwin are mutually exclusive, and therefor don't set the right flags when configuring. Maybe that is the case with gmp too, but I really woudn't know. Their message "no fixes planned" is a bit dissapointing.

Hi Jean-Bernard, Hi Kevin,

I will be glad to be of assistance. I don't have an intel-mac for the moment to check the build, but I may still be able to provide help.

First of all, Jean-Bernard, try not to use aqua emacs. That seems to give problems on an old mac either.
Download the other one from the OSX download site, or directly here:
(OS 10.4; Universal Binary)
http://macemacsjp.sourceforge.jp/package/EmacsCVS-Tiger-20060325.dmg
(SHA1: b8ea819f77f76167c802bf9565e78837cc227d2c)

Then let's see what we can do further.

Fred.

Hello,

I've recently switched to a MacBook Pro (a MacIntel), and I am
looking for
a Mozart core MacOS X package for the Intel architecture. Would you know
where I could find one ?

I have tried to run the Mozart core MacOS X package for PowerPC but
that apparently did
not result in a working system: eg I got the following error message
in the Oz buffer
in Aqua Emacs:

Process Oz Emulator exited abnormally with code 126

Many thanks in advance for your help,

Hello Jean-Bernard,

I know that it is possible to build mozart for your machine, we added
minor support to the CVS sources, see this bug report:

http://www.mozart-oz.org/cgi-bin/oz-bugs/FIXED? id=1859;page=79;user=guest

So I suggest you download the sources and try building. If you have
problems rolling your own then I am sure that Fred (cc'd) can help.

cheers
k
