One or more persons in this group keep taking the conversations off topic.

The topic is how mozilla foundation chooses CAs for mozilla products.

It is not any of the following:
    self-signed certs instead of CAs
use of encryption without any authentication
use of protocols not now in mozilla (e.g. PGP)
    governmetal politics (any government)

mozilla products implement 3 applications of PKI-based security:
a) SSL (for http, smtp, pop3, imap, nntp, and maybe ldap)
b) S/MIME
c) code signing.

This newsgroup exists to discuss topics relevant to those applications
and implementations, not alternative applications, not some PKI-free
parallel universe, not PGP, etc.

I am not going to waste any more time participating in discussions of
those topics which are irrelevant to mozilla and irrelevant to the
issues now facing mozilla.

I invite others to join me in simply refusing to reply to such attempts
to take this group off topic. Treat attempts to do so as trolling.
