Actually it makes me doubt how much it can be trusted for anything more then protecting passwords on email, and even then I'm guessing perhaps combined with something else...

It seems to me the more this topic is debated, the more that governments can abuse the living hell out of it due to the implementations in applications, or perhaps that was the original intent, then again I don't see how it can be made better without adversely effecting those utilising it for non-commerce related activities...

I was reading an article recently on how several linux distros were trying to reinvent the wheel (or in this case replace microsoft) by trying to be everything to everyone and this isn't quite working, and I guess this situation has a lot of simularities, but again I digress, I don't know what the solution is...

If the goal is to protect people from doing stupid things, that's one thing, on the other hand to date mozilla's biggest following is tech related and dumbing down things could end up shunning those users in the process, so I guess what I'm pondering out loud is what direction do you guys think mozilla should be heading in...
