Hi.
I work within a chilean organization that promotes open source software, and now we are preparing a Firefox campaign.
Besides a localization effort, and national's rss feeds, i wonder if we can include our national CA root certificates. That could make a big difference, because this CAs doesn't have obtained even yet the certification to be included in explorer... and the media attention and even government interest in Firefox could be even bigger.
I recently builded a custom firefox package for linux, that included these CA root certs. All worked ok, and it could be one approach... even considering the distribution problems and maybe licensing matters from the Mozilla Foundation (?)
But... i wonder if its possible to create a extension or plugin that installs this certificates in a standard distro of Firefox. Could it work? And for Thunderbird we need another different plugin?
Thanks a lot.
