Hi all, Around 6 months ago I posted and contacted iPlanet about a VERY annoying bug in NS Directory 4.11/4.12. The bug is related to indexing... every now and then an entire object's indexing will disappear. I have tried several methods of editing entries on LDAP (ldapmodify, LDAP SDK, PerLDAP etc.) and in all cases the LDAP server is dropping indexes. NOTE: The equality index is okay and the data is there on the server (i.e. when I point directly at the entry and view it).. We have a large amount of data on the server and we are using 'User Defined' attributes - but this is really getting to me now... i've waited for months... iPlanet told me there would be a patch in mid-december and still nothing... This bug is affecting us so much my management are already talking about moving to Active Directory (aaaggghhhh!) - It might be slower than iPlanet's directory server but at least indexing don't disappear as easily which is the most important thing... Sort it out guys... Ray Jackson --
