From the Directory Server console: when I try to add a new entry of object type alias to agroup and give the attribute, aliasedobjectname the value of the full DN for the entry that I am trying to alias (for example: uid=auser,gn=bgroup,ou=myunit,o=ibm), I get a Modification Failed - no such object dialog. If I put the dn that aliasedobjectname references in double quotes i.e. "uid=auser,gn=bgroup,ou=myunit,o=ibm" then it works but it still doesn't seem to dereference the value when I try to search for it in my java/jndi application. So I must not be entering it correctly.
Am I doing something wrong? Any ideas would help
