We're having a problem with a particular directory instance of Netscape 4.12 running under Solaris 8. Sometimes, the directory cannot be accessed using the console (4.2); you can get to the server group, and usually expand it, but when you double-click the directory instance, it just hangs. Nothing gets written to the error log, and the access log looks OK (just contains traffic from other ldap operations going on).
Strangely, the directory itself behaves OK with other applications, and ldapsearches still function and return the expected results. The only way we have found of correcting the situation is to go back to a previous state by importing an ldif with the ldif2db utility. But then, at some point (which we haven't determined) this hanging problem occurs again. Any ideas to help correct this?
