Hi guys, I am newbie working in the LDAP/ADSI/NETSCAPE DIRECTORY SERVER . I came across your email address when I was browsing adsi index on google for the schema not found problem.
Terminology used : � NDS: Netscape Directory Server version 4.12 � ADSI: Active Directory Server interface version 2.5 � JNDI: Java Naming and Directory Interface Guys, I am in desperate problem in my case. --- >>>>>> Our client uses Netscape Directory Server 4.13 to maintain user's profile on intranet. We are asked to use adsi to retrieve the profile of a user from DS and asked to convert profile data (information) in xml stream for them to use. Client's Environment is as follows: � Netscape Directory Server version 4.12 � Windows 2000 service pack 2 installed Component installed on their machine 1. ADSI 2.5 2. MDAC 2.5 to search user's profile through ADO 3. MSXML parser version 3.0 for Xml generation Action Taken: We had also installed sample database and imported on NDS. I had also created user in several nested ou down. It was done to ensure to replicate their structure same on their machine at our lab. When I wrote DLL in VB it's able to retrieve information from our NDS and able to convert it into XML file. Issue: Since we are retrieving the information in our simulated NDS environment and generating the xml file. But failed to do the same at our client's place. If we try the same using Ldap browser Java Version LDAP Browser and another GUI version client from SOfterra to access the information it's performing and fetching the attribute values. We are using Vb and adsi to achieve the same for attribute retrieval and conversion to xml file. When we tried to debug the (app) DLL it's fetching the correct Dn for user but failed to bind the object or schema of the object to access the information. And produces an error in log mode.: can't bind to the schema of a specified object. Can u tell me what setting they had made on their NDS, which does allow third party software to achieve our target but not ours dll ? I will appreciate your effort and help in above direction.
