AIX Platform: C-SDK: multi-threaded app: Question about LDAP_ASYNC_IO define

Is LDAP_ASYNC_IO define assume that IO over the LDAP
sockets will be truly asynchronous? I mean will the signal SIGIO
be raised everytime something is on the socket?
