We are selling more frequently into large enterprises, many of which have central LDAP (or Active Directory) directories they are requesting that our application utilize for user adds/deletes/modifications.
Our current application has a very large set of per-user configuration data, all kept in PostGRES (sql). It would take an unreasonable rewrite of our system to use the actual central LDAP servers themselves as the data store for our application.
Can anyone provide me with information about the best techniques / practices that existing applications can utilize in order to integrate tightly with a central LDAP user database?
If possible, please RSVP to my email. I don't read this list regularly.
