I had rebuilt the indexes, but thanks for the reminder! Some more information - I have another system running a different version (4.1) with very similar schema on which the same queries work fine. Is it possible to diff the config directories to determine what changes I need to make? Maybe search for differences in occurances of the OID of the atr?
It's not possible to diff the two. The config files are very different between the two versions.
This may be a bug in indexing in 5.1. You may have to export your data and reimport it for the index to take effect.
Apologies if any of this sounds silly. I'm just starting out with this stuff.

When added the indexes on your attrs, did you build the index file? There is a command line program called db2index. I can't remember how to do it from the console.

I've added equality/presence/substring indexes on my created atrs but that does not seem to help.
