I just found the Microsoft Manual of Style for Technical Publications
was available for free as a download from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release.asp?ReleaseID=44354. I
thought the documentation group would be interested. Perhaps we could
collect similar resources and place links to them on a page in the
Mozilla Documentation Project pages.
I think this resource would be useful for settling how to use technical
terms. For example, the book has a page on how to properly use the word
"e-mail." I imagine that some people won't like the manual, because it's
not open source and it has the M$ stigma, but I think I would find it
useful for my work.
As for other resources, would this work?
http://freelancewrite.about.com/cs/technicalwriting/index.htm?terms=Technical+Writing+Resources
how about http://devsupport.mozdev.org/QA/thesaurus/index.html (draft)?
