incomplete dom documentation?

For dhtml scripting with javascript I sought methods and properties in 
the "gecko dom reference"  and in the "w3c dom documentation" i can't 
find many of them!
 ex:
event.rangeParent
event.rangeOffset
TextAreaElement.selectionEnd
TextAreaElement.selectionStart
TextAreaElement.setSelectionRange()
...

Is the dom documentation incomplete?
or this elements are in other documentation?
pls help!!
