If you haven't gotten it already, use Thunderbird v0.6 instead... that one fixed the printing issues (at least the ones I had). And I had to install some extra packages, but it was worth it. I'm very happy. Oh, I've also put on Firefox v0.8 too.

One problem I still can't figure out yet though is opening up web pages from emails. When I was using all SGI netscape before, I'd click on a url inside an email and poof netscape would open up into the url.

I can't seem to get that to work with Firefox and Thunderbird... and I read that these two *should* work together in that capacity. Anybody out there using this combination too?

Hi David & all,

I tried but ran into this "cant successfully map soname..." thingie. Didnt figure out yet how to get the rigt one in place (short of time).

Clicking URLs in emails - though possibly dangerous - works for me, but
Firefox insists on being started anew using another profile if already
running.

Still no printing out of firefox (hangs instead), which is even worse than the other issues mentioned above. No response to my posting yet :-(

Regards

Walther

That's *exactly* what happens to me too.. at least related to the clicking URL's in emails. Firefox wants to start new using another profile if already running. There has got to be somebody else besides Walther and myself who are trying this or knows some info. This is an annoying limitation.

After upgrading Thunderbird to v0.6, printing works w/no problems. Walther - if you haven't done that, try it and it might fix your printing issues.

I'm cross-posting this (haven't had good luck doing that, so hopefully it will work) in the hope that somebody will have the clicking on a URL question figured out.

Thanks in advance!
