Could you please tell me where the files for my bookmarks & emails are kept. As I want to clear my disk and I need to keep these files.

You can find the files under C:\Documents and Settings\[Windows Login Name]\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\[profile name]\[random string].slt\
