Christmas Gift

I could do it from OS 9.2.2 to OSX 10.3.7

First things you need to do is this:
Download from Netscape FTP site this:
FTP link: ftp://ftp.netscape.com/pub/netscape7/english/
Fresh installs from this version of Netscape for OSX: 7.02 / 7.1 and 7.2 here the links:
ftp://ftp.netscape.com/pub/netscape7/english/7.02/mac/macosx/sea/
ftp://ftp.netscape.com/pub/netscape7/english/7.1_bdp/mac/macosx/sea/
ftp://ftp.netscape.com/pub/netscape7/english/7.2/mac/macosx/sea/

Save each download in a new folder and put the version in the Folders name because the filenames for 7.1 and 7.2 are the same. The 7.02 for OSX is a .smi the others are .dmgz

I have 5 email accounts plus Web mail and Local Folders. My outgoing SMTP server is the same for all.

First step uninstall Netscape 7.2 in OSX
Leave OSX free from any Netscape Browser.

Then reinstall Netscape 7.02 in OSX and create a New profile (I used the same name and added OSX) without opening the Mail or setting nothing for mail info.

After that start up from 9.2.2 and copy all the contents from the User/xxxx from your OS 9.2.2 profile to the new OSX profile.

Open Netscape 7.02 under OS9.2.2 , work off line, open your Mail
Window and double-click your first email box.
Under Accounts select “View settings for this account”.
Select “Server settings”
In this page go down and look in “Local directory” and write on a paper the last numbers or letters. Do this for each account you have. Don't forget this point.

Pay attention to this: In the Mail Folder in your OS 9 profile there are sub folders like this:
“mail.(your ISP).com.xx” and “mail.(your ISP).com-(number).xx .
Label each of this folders with a different color and put in the “Get info comments” the account name for each sub folder.
In my case there are 5 folders the first one named “mail.ciudad.com.ar, mail.ciudad.com-1.ar, to com-4.ar”
and the “Local Folders”.

Restart under OSX and open 7.02, work off line, then open the Mail Window.
All your mail/ address books/ bookmarks (all) is there but the mail boxes show question marks and no content in them. Don't worry it's going to work.
What Netscape does is he created new email boxes named in the
same format but continuing the numbering to 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, etc.

Do the same as explained above double-click your first email box.
Under Accounts select “View settings for this account”.
Select “Server settings”
In this page go down and look in “Local directory” and write on a paper the last numbers or letters. Do this for each account you have. Don't forget this point.
Notice that the ending numbers or letters have changed.

Restart under OS 9.2.2 find your 7.02 open the profile created under OSX find the Mail Folder open it and there you find a lot of new folders.
Label each folder with the color that corresponds to your first labeling taking notice to the info you have written down on paper before.
Copy each old folder content to the new one replacing all. Do this for each folder including the old “ Local Folders” now named “Local Folders-1”
Take your time revise your work. After you have done this delete all the old mail sub folders. Empty Trash. And lets go on.

Restart under OSX open 7.02 work off line, open the Mail Window.
Surprise all you mail is in there. Happy now. Netscape is running under OSX with all your mail. The only thing to do is to reenter the passwords for each mailbox.
But we are under 7.02. Well know is the next step.

My Story :
I have advanced with this issue.
I told you that I installed Netscape 7.02 under OSX and after copying all the contents of the OS 9.22 profile to a new profile created under OSX I could read all under OSX.
Then I installed Netscape 7.2 and had a crash. As I installed it, I deleted the 7.02 application. BIG ERROR.
I deleted 7.2 application under OSX and reinstalled the 7.02 version again.
I don't loose all my previous work. HAPPY.

Next step I downloaded from the Netscape's FTP site the version of Netscape 7.1 that has this letters in the filename "BDP" I don't know was this means. All I saw was that it was a newer version.
I installed this version under OSX without deleting the 7.02 version.
When I opened the 7.1 version, voila, there was all there.
After that I done some corrections in the preferences of 7.1 because there are new options in it.
Both version in OSX 7.0.2 and 7.1 are sharing the same profile.
Im going to test 7.1 out before deleting the 7.02 version.
If all works right my plan is to install 7.2 without deleting 7.1.
