That's half-true.

The dictionary is proprietary - not even Netscape owns it. For that 
reason, the source for the "checking logic" in Mozilla is not checked 
into the tree either, as far as I know.

But Netscape does not have an interest to keep that proprietary. I hear 
that it would be willing to open-source the "checking login".

Also, there are open-source checkers available.

The only problem is hooking both up. Hurricane wonce worked on it, but 
it stalls. Anybody feel free to continue that work. If that helps 
anyone, I have a customer that would be willing to spend a few 10$-notes 
for it (at least he said so).
