I am organizing an effort to create a lightweight XHTML browser and editor
in the flash6 runtime engine (flashmx). The project is going to be organized
under the GNU license (open source). If any of you guys have knowledge of
the spatial layout engine in gecko, you would be invaluable to this project.

Samuel Wan (actionscript guru and author), has created an XHTML table parser
in flash that is based on the two pass HTML table layout algorithm (RFC
1942). This project is intended to build on that work to support a subset of
the XHTML 1.0 tags.

The aim will be to provide a cross platform/cross browser replacement for
the IE "conteneditable" mode editor. The initial scope will be targeted at
the BODY level elements and will not render CSS styles (although any inline
styles will be adhered to) or javascript.

Please email me if you are interested in discussing this . . .
