Aplogies for the slightly off-topic message, but I think this is still
one of the most appropriate forums for this question!

I'm wondering what a suitable open source base might be for trying to
buid an application that I can best describe as a dumbed-down WYSIWYG
JSP editor. Right now I am very technology-neutral, aside from the
requirement that the target platform will be a Windows workstation.

It seems that NetBeans is a very suitable starting point for this,
though as far as I can tell it doesn't have a WYSIWYG editor (for HTML)
built in. (Am I right about that?) Other options I can see are
possibly trying to work with the Mozilla Editor, or Amaya (or
Eclipse?).

Can anyone provide some insight into what the advantages/disadvantages
would be for using any of the above projects for my application? Are
there other open source projects anyone is aware of that would be
appropriate? Is there a more suitable forum (aside from the respective
project-specific forums for each of these projects) where I could ask
this?

Your comments are greatly appreciated!

Paul
