The viewml mailinglist (http://www.viewml.org/mailinglist/)
..and some people involved in the projects below.

Our company are involved in project where we need an embedded
browser. There will be a _lot of_ devices using this browser soo there
is room for quite a lot of development and modifications. We have
evaluated the options below and would greatly appreciate some thoughts
on the options that we are considering.

I'll post a summary of the opinions that we receive.

Also, if there are any similar projects going on (or starting), please
contact us so that we can coordinate our efforts

Some of the options we are considering at this point is:

ViewML (some(?!) development is required)
=========================================
http://www.viewml.org/

Advantages:
* Small footprint
* Works with nano-x and fltk

Disadvantages:
* Lacks a lot of the support we need (most of 3.2 and some support
  from 4.0)
  This requires some development.
* We have had problems with crashing/no error messages etc.

Questions:
* How much work will it be to implement most of 3.2 and some tags from
  4.0.
* How active is the development.
* Is it "out of scope" for the viewml project to support this.

"nanozilla" (no development required)
=====================================
http://www.igelaus.com.au/projects/nanox.html

Advantages:
* Works with nano-x and fltk
* Has very good support for html/javascript/etc

Disadvantages:
* TO BIG (30MB+) (without any further development/modifications)

Questions:
* Is there any effort to make nanozilla work "with" gtkEmbed?

gtkEmbed; Embedded mozilla using the gtk widget (no development
required)
==========================================================================
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/embedding/
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/footprint/
dvantages:
* Has very good support for html/javascript/etc

Disadvantages:
* Does NOT work with nano-x
* Quite big (15-20MB+) (without any further development)
* Uses GTK wich may not be ideal for a small embedded solution

Questions:
* Is there any effort of supporting nano-x with gtk?

Developing a custom embeded mozilla with support for fltk & nano-x
==================================================================
This work could probally be based on the nanozilla work

Advantages:
* Has very good support for html/javascript/etc
* Works with nano-x and fltk

Disadvantages:
* ?

Questions:
* How much development is required?
* How much less memory will this version use?
* Is anyone allready working on this?

Thanks for any replys.
