I have a feeling I'm going offtopic, but the idea of ActiveX as Microsoft
implemented it is absurd in the *nix world because it gives root-level
priviledges to anyone's webpage. The prompts aren't usually enough to
prevent a user from installing an ActiveX control.

Ok, I'm definitely offtopic. The thing to look for is either Netscape
plugins in addition to the activex controls. After that, if the app server
really depends on activex controls, you're either gonna have to require
your users to use IE (blech), or you're gonna have to find another one.
