After creating the control normally, QI for this interface and call the method to get ahold of the nsIWebBrowser XPCOM interface. You can then start hitting the Gecko APIs directly from there though you'd have to be careful not to tread on the control's toes, e.g. by unexpectedly releasing things etc.
Gecko that doesn't try to mimic IWebBrowser and DWebBrowserEvents, but
rather presents an interface designed specifically for Gecko? Why be
so limited?
