As I didn't really get an answer, I have decided to post my question on this
group. I followed an advice from the Mozilla Control page
(http://www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/mozilla.htm).

Here is the copy of the original post :

 Hello,

As a web designer and developer I often need to capture screen and windows.
I tried HyperSnap-DX and SnagIt to capture my web browser window. There 2
screen capture softwares are powerful but only HyperSnap-DX allows me to
capture Mozilla Firebird windows, by scrolling the window from top to
bottom, I can get a capture of the whole page !

However my favourite software, the one I would like to buy after my trial
period (HyperSnap-DX adds an ugly watermark on each capture), has a SnagIt
COM server (http://www.techsmith.com/products/devtools/snagitcomserver.asp)
:

      Quote:
The SnagIt COM Server is a programming interface to SnagIt. It allows
any programming language that supports COM access to SnagIt's image and text
capture features. For example, developers using Visual Basic, VB Script,
Visual C/C++, Visual Studio.Net, Delphi, or C++ Builder can now embed and
control SnagIt directly in their applications.

I'm new to extension development so I wonder how I can access the SnagIt COM
Server, its COM objects, from a Mozilla Firebird Extension. For sure it's
possible but I wonder how. I could use a tutorial and any information about
it.

An other idea would be to write a Screen Capture Extension for
Mozilla/Firebird. What do you think ? I'm sure you can access the current
tab "bitmap" from an extension, maybe it's the shortest and easiest way.

JM

So I'm looking for a way to access a COM object from a Mozilla/Firebird
extension.

Kind regards,
Jean-Marc Molina.
