No, not joking. Just stating an obvious fact given the current design and
implementation of the app. 32 Meg PCs are really too small for getting
NS6 to be snappy.

Because NS6 contains a huge amount of code to handle a huge amount of
things. Plus, its not as optimized for size as it could be.
They have a choice as to whether to spend time optimizing for size or
adding functionality. Given the amount of RAM in the typical machine sold
these days they are opting to spend more of their time putting in more
functionality since that is what people want. Take myself for instance: I
consider support for XML, later CSS levels, XSLT, Java 2, and an
assortment of other enhancements more important that memory usage. The
fact that the NS6 browser is currently using 57 megs of RAM on my machine
does not force it out to the swap file since I have so much RAM.
Memory is cheap. 256 megs of PC100 SDRAM is $104 if you go look on
http://www.pricewatch.com and other types (aside from RDRAM) are
similarly quite cheap.
With 32 megs in your machine you are in a small and dwindling minority.
Therefore software developers are not going to target your machine's
capabilities when designing apps.
