I have noticed a change in behaviour of Netscape 6 from the previous version
and wondered if anyone could confirm it for me.

Previously, if I opened a webpage which triggered a java applet to open in
it's own window the applet would remain open until I closed Netscape, even
if I browsed to a different page. Now, the applet only remains open while I
have the page that triggered it open. If I browe to another page the applet
automatically closes.

Our company firewall uses a java authentication applet which must remain
open to allow access to the web. This new behaviour is extremely
frustrating and means that I can no longer use Netscape with our company
firewall.

Can anyone confirm this behaviour or suggest a work-around?

Cheers,

Steve
