Automatic Mail Retrieval

I have two e-mail accounts set up with Mozilla .7.  I can get mail 
manually with no problems by clicking "get message."  I also have both 
accounts set to automatically check and retrieve new mail every ten 
minutes but this never occurs, even if there is mail on the server.   Is 
this feature functional in .7?
