FWIW, I always downloaded and used the win32 talkback builds until they
grew to more than twice the size of the installer. Now it takes *way*
too long to download on my slow dial-up connection, so I quit using
them. Granted, crashes are much more rare than they once were, but they
do still show up from time to time.
Observation: Since there haven't been any progress updates on either bug
38923 or 63055, maybe mozilla (or perhaps just Leaf) doesn't think it's
that important?
