If anyone has any information regarding Microsoft Media Player 7 and a plugin inorder for me to get the embedded player to work in the new Netscape 6 browser I would be so so ... grateful. I have spent literally hours running around the Netscape Site and the Microsoft site trying to get information and software to help with the installation problems. Microsoft at least have something (not that it worked !!) but Netscape will not even have the word Microsoft on their site as far as I can see. Then to make matters worse by rubbing salt in the wound the Netscape site is so difficult to navigate round. You get shoved back from where you came, you dont understand why you have landed at certain places and to top it all Netscape ask if you are looking for Free Support e.g. research the Knowledge Base then direct you straight to an area where you can submit a question for ��� or $$$. Do they understand what the word FREE means ? WHAT YOU HAVE TO ASK IS THIS: 'WHO IS THIS HURTING ?' answers, well [1] it does hurt us to an extent in wasted time and energy that could certainly have been put to much better use. I dont like to think about it but what does it EQUATE TO how many ���'s or $$$'s ? however ... [2] Overall the main person (company) it hurts is Netscape themselves. The product esthetically is gorgeous and seems to have a lot of great functionality but what good is it. NONE AT ALL. I now have the browser installed on my machine like remanents of life that could of been. I ask you why do Netscape invest all this money and time and energy and fight legal battles and ... and ... and ... if only to THROW IT ALL AWAY. They must realise they arent stupid are they ?? If they are PLEASE COULD SOMEONE TELL THEM ... THE FOLLOWING ? TOO MANY SITES STIPULATE TO THE USER WHAT CAN AND CANT BE EMPLOYED ON THEIR SITES THEREFORE IF A LARGE NUMBER OF SITES THAT ONE MAY VISIT AND ACTIVELY USE EMPLOY A PLAYER EMBEDDED INTO THE PAGE SUCH AS MICROSOFT (sorry !) MEDIA PLAYER WHICH YOU (Netscape) ARE SO OBSTINATE IN PROVIDING A LINK, DOWNLOADS, SUPPORT OR INFORMATION FOR THEN WHAT ALTERNATIVE DOES THE USER HAVE BUT TO GO BACK TO A BROWSER (THAT MAY OR MAY NOT BE AS GOOD (the answer now total acedmic) ) THAT WORKS WITH ALL THE SOFTWARE OUT IN THE MARKET PLACE ? SO THAT JUST LEAVE NETSCAPE DUMPED WE DONT HAVE AN ALTERNATIVE ... ITS TO MUCH TROUBLE AND IT DETRACTS FROM THE EXPERIENCE. AN EXPERIENCE THAT PROMISED TO BE EXCITING, STATISFING AND FUN BUT NEVER LIVED UP TO THE PROMISE ... WHAT A SHAME. Do you know I even search the whole web. Using individual search engines, multiple search engines, trying different words phrases etc etc and the outcome ... well you know but the surprising thing was that I did find many articles or information on the subject not even from people like ZDNET or CNET or ... which concludes that no one really out their knows what to do either and has given up as I am. Just one last thought because I am so bored of this now ... What is going to happen to all those companies sinking their hard earn money into projects that are meant to compliment Netscape inorder to ride on the back of this promise and the mega earning potential ?? Answers on a post card to ... I hope they make enough before the belly up ! Thanks for listening. I would like to try it out one day though just to see statisfy my curisosity so if someone somewhere knows anything may be they would let me have the information. Thanks again.
