Ok, here's the dealio ... Running Win2K professional ... I regularly download nightlies, and as we well know now, typically they're 10x better than Netscape 6.01 even these days, more features, fewer bugs, faster, etc etc etc. For development reasons I want to keep Netscape 6 on my box, but I want to run Mozilla .8+ as my general use browser. Here's my problem. I typically download the ZIP archives (not the installers) for Mozilla. These I put into a /software/mozbuilds/builddate/ directory ... so I don't put them over top of each other in case I end up with a bum build. I just run the .exe right from the file system. Right now my NS6 is located in /program files/netscape/netscape6/ and I run it from shortcuts, etc .... Problem I'm having is that they seem to be sharing preferences, and I want that to stop, particularly because there's a theme i want to be using for my Mozilla builds which works great there, but literally breaks my NS6. I want all the preferences seperate. I know there's the mozregistry.dat file, but how can I keep seperate preferences for the two apps? Is it only as simple as a different profile for each? how do I set up a different profile (can i just use the NS6 profile manager and create a second profile? -- i guess i'll try that having just thought of it) Help!! Thanks in advance, : r o b
