MS-CHAP password - IE5.5 vs NS 4.7

on our NT based web server,
we have one web sub-dir that is setup to restrict access
by requiring users to enter their NT user ID & password.

It appears to work just fine with IE 5.5 clients.
It fails when folks are using Netscape browsers.

The only thing I can think of is the the password
is being prompted using the MS-CHAP handshake -

Does any version of Netscape support this ??
