I have tested Mozilla on many systems (all with 128mb mem or more) and
Mozilla and Netscape 6 started instantaneously for me. I have never had a
problem with Mozilla performance (except on Windows creation) on any of
these systems since 0.7. Yet, I hear Mozilla still has slow initiation time
for some people (http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36283). The
only time I had problems with Mozilla was with a 486 laptop with 4 MB mem
and Mozilla didn't run. I am assuming these people's slow initiation time is
due to memory, but I'm not sure. (One of the systems that runs it quickly is
a Pentium 200 MMX).
I was wondering if everyone who reads this can post information about their
system and initiation time.
My system:
PII366.
294 MB ram.
Windows 2000.
3 gigs hd free.
IBM Thinkpad 600E.
Mozilla 3/11 build.
Laptop graphics card
Initiation time, Mozilla: 3 sec
Initiation time, Netscape Nav. 2 sec
