I recently installed Netscape 6.01 for my wife.
She use a pop3 server
and port 110. She has a Pentium II Powerspec
with 64 Ram. Her
processor was 400 mhz but I had a new processor
put in 6 months ago and
forgot the new amount of mhz. It was more so
maybe around 500mhz.
She uses Windows 98 4.10.1998
When I first set up her account I had the box
checked to delete messages
on server when deleted manually. It did not do
that because after she
emptied the trash those same email messages
that were deleted came back
in her Inbox.
I then deleted her account. I created a new
account and did not check
that same box this time since it did no good
last time. She did not
have the problem for a couple days of the same
deleted messages coming
back to the inbox. I thought it was fixed for
a couple days. The same
problem is reoccuring.
Now I went back and put a check in box
to delete messages on server
when deleted manually. I doubt if this works
because like I said
earlier the original setting was this way and
the messages kept coming
back to her Inbox.
I talked her into changing to Netscape from the
IE 5 which she was happy
with because I love my Netscape 4.61. I did
not know where to get the
4.61 so downloaded the 6.0.1. She is very
frustrated and furious with
me. Rightly so.
Can anyone tell me how to stop her deleted
messages can be stopped from
returning from the server back to the Inbox. I
have not seen this
problem in any version of Netscape or IE I have
had before.
I read IMAP does not have this problem
but our Cable Isp does not allow
us to use IMAP. Any solution here?

Thanks,
Dave
