Of course (if I understand correctly). If the screen divided, then 
between parts there's a nav bar (sorry, lack of proper words) with an 
arrow down (full) in middle of it. Simply click on it and the bar will 
drop to the bottom of the screen - and mail will not be shown there anymore.

  I think that you should use some good AV software, that's checking all 
incoming information before you can use it. I have Sophos Antyvirus 
www.sophos.com and works just perfect. You may download and use the full 
commercial version if it will not be used for any commercial / company  
causes. The updates are also free and are available in two "versions": 
each time a new virus is discovered a new IDE (ntification) file is 
created and ready for download. You may also download once a month a ZIP 
file containing all the IDE files that were created since the last ZIP 
release.
