In short, your files have not be modified in anyway. Windows
just keeps a list of which files should be open with which
programs, and other programs can change this list. Just that
when you installed Netscape 6 you got a window asking if you
want it to be your default browser, and you clicked on YES
so Netscape 6 changed the settings in Windows to refer GIFs,
JPEGs, and other common Internet files to Netscape 6.
The reason why they are called "Mozilla files" is because
Netscape 6 is based on the Mozilla Open Source Project, and
I think it was a bug that the Mozilla part of it remained in
file type description.
