No, they are totally unrelated. AOL doesn't use ALL of Mozilla in it's clients,
just the rendering engine, Gecko. And I guarantee you AOL has a version of it's
Win32 client software running with a Gecko core instead of IE's renderer waiting
to be polished and released, should the deal fall through.

No no, being on the desktop is important to AOL, that's obvious, I'm saying it
may not be important to their maintaining their position in the world. Whoever
in AOL wants to be on the Windows desktop has made it clear they FEEL it's
important, but I'm saying I disagree.

Anyone who's been a CEO of, and then fired by, a successful company will
disagree with you. And any shareholder of a now-defunct company will also tell
you the CEO of the company the invested in is probably still doing quite well...
Personal gain and the good of the company CAN be the same thing, but often are
not.
