This worked for me on Mandrake 8.0, I was suffering the same problem.

cd /usr/local/mozilla
ln -s /usr/X11R6/lib/libXt.so.6.0   libXt.so
ln -s /usr/X11R6/lib/libXext.so.6.4 libXext.so

Start a new instance of the browser. If you type about:plugins in the
address field you should see a list of your available plugins.
