First of all, you're in the wrong group. This newsgroup is for work on 
the Mozilla project (http://www.mozilla.org/) and not for Netscape 
Communicator issues.

Secondly, Netscape 6 is based on Mozilla, and therefore does not support 
proprietary features like document.layers. Instead, use the W3C-standard 
DOM (http://www.w3.org/DOM/).
