Hello, For some reason, the Sun java plugin depends on a particular User-Agent string to allow it to work with Mozilla/Netscape 6. Thus, if a user changes the User-Agent string using the prefs, the java plugin will cease working. This is bugzila bug <http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83376>, Sun internal bugtraq bug 4465932. The engineer responsible for that bug, Zhengyu Gu <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, asked me this question, which, as a good open source citizen, I'm posting here. On 15 June 11:04:09, Zhengyu Gu wrote: > Thank you for the information, I reproduced the problem with Mozilla > 0.9.1 build. > > Java plugin depends on User-Agent for browser type and version > information right now to provide service for proxy/cookie > support. Can someone please give me an answer to this question so I can demonstrate to the others here at Sun that there is a value to posting to the newsgroups?
