I did actually say "Newsgroup", not "Usenet", but I take your
point. However, I think that "back then" <grin> more people used BBSs
(and by that I include Fideonet, etc., even though I may be "mixing my
metaphors") than they did Usenet as we would now consider it

Interesting. I vaguely DO remember that bit about having the
questioner only post a summary of all replies. I'm just not sure how
practical that is. (How many people will actually do this?) Also, in
my experience, I've read numerous criticisms of people who say "email
me here, please do not post your reply".
