Hi

I want to set up roaming profiles for Netscape users so they can get
their bookmarks, addressbook etc from wherever they are.

I have tried to set it up for myself: in Netscape 4.7 under "Roaming
Access" I enabled user access, put in my (unix) username and specified a
URL to the (unix) webserver. On the unix webserver I set up a directory
called "roaming" under the DocumentRoot directory and in the roaming
directory another directory with the same name as my $USERID.

However, when I want to access my roaming profile and I type in my unix
password for my username, it is not accepted. I suppose this is no
surprise as the Apache server I have running would not know anything
about NIS passwords.

So my question is: how do I set up password validation on my Apache
server (running on a unix computer) so I can accces my roaming profile?
Do I have to use a .htaccess file? I can't seem to find any
documentation about that.

An additional question: I presume people can copy their bookmarks.htm
file into their roaming profile directory as it is simply html, but can
they also copy their addressbook (abook.nab) into the roaming profile
directory or do they have to create a new addressbook from within the
roaming profile?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hugo
