The default *logical resolution* on Windows in 96px/in. The *logical
resolution* on Mac is 72px/in *unless* an app overrides it like Mozilla
and Mac IE do. (Sadly, the system logical resolution is still fixed in
Mac OS X--even though Apple had an excellent opportunity to fix that
flaw.)
The *physical resolution* of video systems connected to computers
running Windows or Mac OS varies and usually doesn't match the logical
resolution.
