I have a problem with the text on some of the buttons in Mozilla. The text
for the Go, Search, Home, and Bookmarks buttons does not show up in the
Modern theme and the text for all of the buttons is missing in the Classic
theme (except Personal Toolbar bookmarks I added myself). If I move the
.mozilla directory out of the way and start Mozilla, I get a dialog with no
text (presumably the "convert Netscape profile" dialog). The text in the
buttons actually shows up the first time it's run, but every time after that
it reverts to the broken behavior.
I think it may be a permissions problem, because I don't get the problem if
I run Mozilla as root or install mozilla to my home directory and run from
there. I also created a new user and saw the same problem as that user.
I really have no idea what could be causing this. I didn't see anything in
Bugzilla or the newsgroups about related to it. I tried exploding the
modern.jar and classic.jar files, but saw nothing obvious. Does anyone have
any other suggestions?
I just noticed that the "- Mozilla {$BUILD_ID}" portion of the title bar
also doesn't show up.
I'm using Mozilla 2001081711 (started seeing this around 0804), Debian
testing, kernel 2.4.9, XFree 4.1.0, Blackbox window manager.
