thanks so much for the response, Jason!

I am still wondering about why my mail filters will not stay in place.
Does anyone have an idea about this one?

1. the main problem is with mail filters that "won't stick." you set up
a new filter, create a folder for those messages, then click "OK" and
the message filters dialog goes away. then at some mysterious point in
the future, anywhere from one to ten of those filters will make
themselves inactive. thus, mail is not filtering correctly. any ideas?

thanks again!
dave ;)
