Thanks for the pointer.

However, that one seems to be about MacOSX, while I'm
running WinNT4 SP6a, on a PIII/450MHz. And this
problem has been there only since the 0.9.3 release.
My bookmarks are bit big (168K), but previous releases
of Mozilla, NS4.78 and IE5 have had NO problems in
displaying them almost instantaneously.

I repeat that the problem is absolutely consistent, so
much so in fact, that I'm somewhat scared(!!!!) to 
access my bookmarks.

Arrrgggghhhh...

I would be logging a Bugzilla bug - I would also
search again, just to be sure.
