I am running VNC viewer on my underpowered notebook computer. This allows me to "export" an X-windows desktop from my powerful linux box. I can run all apps from my linux box on the screen of my win95 notebook. With a wireless lan, it is really cool! Also, the hard drive of the notebook can spin down, extending battery life! http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/ The animated icon hogs the limited processing power of the notebook. Is there any (simple) way to stop the icon animation? Is there a file carrying the animated icon which can be deleted? Thanks in advance! Nick Hill nickhill[at]email[dot]com
