As many of you know, my position at Netscape was eliminated and I was laid off last Thursday. Thanks to each of you who has contacted me regarding this development. I remain committed to the Mozilla project and to contributing in whatever ways I can. We are on the cusp of great success. Companies such as ActiveState and OEone are using Mozilla technology in exciting new ways, and have suggested that XPCOM may be as vital a Mozilla technology as is Gecko. XUL is being used and recognized. Netscape is now shipping a good Mozilla-based product. The list of companies shipping Mozilla-based products is growing; a partial list can be found at: <http://www.mozilla.org/docs/ora-oss2001/state-of-mozilla/04_Out_and_About_8.html> . Numerous other companies are building products using Mozilla technology but aren't talking about it publicly yet. We're approaching Mozilla 1.0, even as we continue to debate its definition. Our community is strong and growing. Individual volunteers, former volunteers hired to work on Mozilla, and companies are all involved. Our development community has great talent and phenomenal dedication. The coming year brings enormous potential for Mozilla. Let's make it happen. Mitchell
