Which OS? On Windows 98 all personal data is saved in a path like
C:\Windows\Application Data\Mozilla\

If you want a clean install delete everything there after uninstalling 
Mozilla.

(On a German version of Windows 'Anwendungsdaten' instead of
'Application Data', if you have multiple Windows users look at
C:\Windows\Profiles\ for a similar path)
