I experience the same from time to time. The back button is not
*disabled* (it's not grayed out) but nothing happens when you click on
it. To "work around" this, I normally click on the back button arrow
and go back 2 screens.
(However this doesn't help you if you need to go back just one
screen.)
I assumed that this was known and being worked on - probably my
fault for making the assumption...
