Put at least 1 gb of Memory in you PC and that will stop Crashing. Why? because it keeps a copy of each change in memory or on Scratch disk. If you have 20 illerations of a 5 mb file. It might run out of RAM. I Have PhotoShopLe (can't afford $600.00 for the full version.
