That is true. I'm not a programmer so i can't say for sure but I believe
the Mac OS 9 and lower use a form of C++ and was eventually optimized to
take advantage of The PowerPC Chip which is a RISC Processor.

THe PowerPC Chip RISC Processor was based original the 2000 series
Motorola RISC UNIX Workstation Chip designed exclusively to RUN UNIX and
UNIX only.

Mac Systems prior to OS 7.1.2 were used exclusively on Machines using a
680XX Chip (XX = 00, 10, 20, 30, LC 40, and 40) this was a purely CISC
based chip much like the 286,386, 486 chip in PC's, Best of my
recollection, 586 series was the first chip to be called Pentium.

>From what I'm told Pentium now is, an almost but not quite, RISC chip.
Its a hybrid RISC/CISC unit. IN the G4 Chip on the other hand there is
not left the least CISC bone in its body.

And True UNIX is supposed to be Platform independent, But because of the
way UNIX is written it will take advantage of the RISC Processor and all
the RAM you can give it. NOTE: That's not saying its a memory Hog. It
just means the more RAM You have the better it will work and takes
advantage of the extra room dynamically.
